Comparative Efficacy of Serological Tests and Molecular Analysis of Bovine Brucellosis in Western Uttar Pradesh

Background: Brucellosis is a major zoonotic disease that affects people all over the world. Metritis, mastitis, repeat breeding, abortion in last trimester of pregnancy, retention placenta and reduced milk production are symptoms female bovines, whereas epididymitis, orchitis sterility male animals. In humans flu-like to undulant fever, arthritis, epididymitis can be detected. Methods: A total 470 bovine samples (serum, whole blood, samples) were taken from four districts western Uttar Pradesh. The 262 sera processed subjected RBPT, STAT ELISA for determination seroprevalence brucellosis 108 blood molecular analysis by PCR disease. Result: Out (203 cattle 59 buffalo) serum samples, 203 sample was found 11.82%, 16.25% 8.37%. Whereas, buffalo 3.38%, 15.25% 0.00% I-ELISA respectively. 5 positive detection giving prevalence rate 1.62%.
